Enhancing Networking, Collaboration, Communication and Signposting with and across the London LGBT+ community
Welcome to our newly refreshed Rainbow Boroughs Project WordPress site which replaces our old London LGBT Blog.
The original blog was launched by Mark Healey in February 2016, with the ambition of creating a space to share information with, and across the London LGBT+ community.
Initally focusing on the boroughs of Lambeth, Tower Hamlets and Westminster where we (the anti-hate charity 17-24-30 NationalHCAW) deliver the April Acts of Remembrance to mark the anniversaries of the April 1999 London Nail Bomb attacks on Brixton, Brick Lane and Soho each year.
We wanted, and still want to help bring LGBT+ people together to tackle all forms of hate crime, including Biphobia, Transphobia and Homophobia. If you want to report hate crime – check out the Report Hate Crime Page on our national website where we list hate crime advice and support organisations.
The Rainbow Boroughs Project aims to provide public and private spaces for key members of the LGBT+ community to network, communicate and collaborate together.
If you would like to be involved, start by signing up to our newsletter.
We aim to facilitate and deliver the following:
We hold 6 Inclusive Pan-London Forum Meetings each year.
We produce 8 newsletters a year, 2 newsletters each quarter.
We aim to provide platform for 6 guest speakers each year.
We organise an annual community survey.
We organise weekly volunteer sessions.
We focus our work around 4 campaigns themes.
We plan to deliver community projects.
We signpost and promote other LGBT+ organisations and services.
We are developing a Who’s Who directory / community listing.
We use traditional communication methods – email, phone and post.
We run social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, Linkedin and YouTube.
We manage this WordPress website/blog.
The Rainbow Boroughs Project is run and facilitated by 17-24-30 NationalHCAW (Charity No 1184819). We welcome dontations to support our work.
Connect so we can work together to enhance networking, communication and collaboration across the LGBT+ community.
